Fuck.

How did his brother know?

Myles rose from the chair slowly. He flexed his hands and tightened his jaw as he glanced at the beautiful woman sitting on the bed, highly confused. She was hot, flushed, glistening, her lips quivered and with every ragged breath she took, her chest heaved, and her nipples slid against the delicate fabric of her dress.

He had never in all his life had such a visceral reaction to a female before, but Gracen Elizabeth Andrews had draped herself in his head and over his body.

But he had pushed that aside because he knew he would forever be haunted by her beauty, her smell and he would forever hunger for her when the Serpent Curse took complete hold of him, and he had to live out his days alone and isolated in the mountains of Alaska until he died.

From the first moment he had watched her sleep in her bed, in Lemonville Springs, an innocent beauty with dark silky hair and with the fragrance of talc coming off her body, she was incomparable, and he knew she would make the end days of his life a pure living hell and fuck he knew he wouldn’t survive it if he touched her.

He didn’t want to remember her. So, he removed her from his mind. Her sole purpose was to let his brother take her virginity to cure him of the virus so he could take over from Myles by the next full moon.

He thought he could handle touching her until he had lowered himself onto the bed between her legs, and her pretty folds had glistened with wetness before him when Tristan offered him the first taste of her. He didn’t have a choice but to comply. He didn’t want Tristan to get suspicious. As far as his brother knew, Myles had brought her as a gift to him yet despite the brutal effects of the virus inside him, his brother had reacted to her the same way Myles had, with that uncanny need to have her. One which Myles himself had erased from his head and his cock.

But Tristan didn’t need to know that Gracen was meant to transfer her DNA to him when he took her innocence because of the injection Harold Dean Kinsley had given her. It was still a mystery that the man had in his possession their ancestor’s blood, Wulfric and Elissa’s. No one knew how he came to have it, or why.

That she was going to save Tristan’s life by transferring that DNA to him, would not only cure him of the ailment Semus had inflicted on him, but it would also change his DNA and give him the markings of alpha in the process and that was all that mattered; his brother alive and healthy so he could take over as alpha of the pack now that Myles could no longer fulfill the position. He had also kept all that information from Tristan, knowing that despite his ravaged state he would refuse to take on the alpha-ship from Myles.
